Emmanuelle Lainé

Emmanuelle Lainé (born in 1973 in Paris, lives in Brussels and Marseille) is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris. In recent years, her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at the Palais de Tokyo and Bétonsalon, Paris (2017), the Villa Arson, Nice (2016), MOT International, Brussels (2015), the IFAL, Mexico City (2015), the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard, Paris (2014), C-o-m-p-o-s-i-t-e, Brussels (2014) among others. Lainé has also taken part in many group exhibitions, including “Beneath the Moon”, ICA Singapore (2016); “La Vie Moderne, Biennale de Lyon” (2015); “L’Usage des Formes [The Use of Form]”, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2015); “Infinite Scroll”, La Galerie, Noisy-le-Sec (2015); “Des pas dans l’escalier”, Frac Basse–Normandie, Caen (2014); “Six Possibilities for a Sculpture”, La Loge, Brussels (2013); “Intense Proximity”, La Triennale, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2012); “The Rise and Fall of Matter”, David Roberts Art Foundation, London (2011). Since her work is based on the specificity of each exhibition context, the institutions that invite Emmanuelle Lainé place their furniture and property resources at her disposal, with the goal of offering a “method of loci”, as an interface between the space, the work and the visitors.
